Week 25: Vacation Summary

Hey collective everyone,

I just got back from my epic vacation yesterday and am completely exhausted. I have about 919 pictures I need to filter through which means it may be a short while before I get them up and ready for viewing.

Amie wanted to help co-write the post about our trip so thats also waiting until next week. In the odd chance that you do not want to wait until next week to hear the detailed account of what happened to us, heres a quick summary.

We saw a million temples and shrines, highlights include the Fushimi Inari Shrine and Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoyo, Toshogu Shrine and Taiyuin Temple in Nikko, and Todaji in Nara. Here is a teaser.

We ate at a lot of Japanese restaurants, had some traditional tea, took cooking lessons, went to a festival, wandered the Tokyo districts and a bunch more that you will hear about in next weeks epic post!

  1. Since you are in japan wouldn’t they just be called restaurants and not japanese restaurants

  2. Nope, these were restaurants specializing in traditional Japanese foods. They seem to have five dominant styles here :Italian, French, Japanese, Chinese, and Indian. Everything else is either McDonalds or KFC.

  3. Or hot-dog on a stick vendors!

  4. Looking forward to next week’s epic post! Must be a lot more fun travelling around with the gf! šŸ™‚
